Narrative history
  R87315 Flight Sergeant (RCAF pilot) (Thomas) Alvin Crawford (b.1916) of Harris died 19420506 and is buried at Nes general cemetery, Ameland, Friesland, Netherlands. Crawford's Blenheim went missing on a training exercise from No. 13 Operational Training Unit and his body washed ashore at Ameland. His parents Ernest Garfield and Ethel Jane (Clayton) Crawford came from Wisconsin via North Dakota and Pincher Creek, Alberta, arriving at Harris in 1916 where Ern was to spend 35 years as the Imperial Oil agent. Alvin was born at Harris and was working as a truck driver for his father when he enlisted at Saskatoon early in 1941. He married Grace Patricia (Kavanagh) at Regina later that year, she and their son Wayne later lived at Devon, Alberta. Alvin's sister Norma also served in the RCAF.
