Narrative history
  R87409 Warrant Officer 1 (No. 244 Squadron RAF Blenheim pilot) John Evans Cosford (b.1920) of Simpson was KIA 19430608 at Abadan and is buried at Tehran war cemetery situated at the British embassy at Gulhek near Tehran, Iran. He was the son of William Laurence and Ellen Wannetta (Evans) Cosford who came from Palmerston, Grey Co., Ontario, to homestead NW4-29-25-W2 just west of Simpson and were among the earliest homesteaders in the area. John was born at Watrous and was working as a store clerk for Simpson Trading when he enlisted at Saskatoon early in 1941.
