| J10509 Flying Officer (No. 295 Squadron RAF pilot) Melvin Wilson Collins (b.1921) of Saskatoon was KIA 19430516 and is buried at St. Mary churchyard, Bransgore, Hampshire, England. Collins' Halifax crashed at Sopley. Melvin was the son of William Turner and Jeanie Andrews (Kerr) Collins who came from Lancashire and Glasgow respectively to farm southeast of Saskatoon. Melvin was born at Saskatoon, educated at Floral and was farming with his family when he enlisted at Saskatoon in 1941. |
