Narrative history
  L107903 Private (Essex Scottish Regiment) John Peter Chomyn (b.1924) of Carpenter was KIA 19450219 during operations to clear the west bank of the Rhine and is buried at Groesbeek Canadian war cemetery near Nijmegen, Gelderland, Netherlands. He was the son of Peter M. Chomyn who arrived from Torhovitsia, Ukraine, in 1902 and married Molly (Ceftuniak) in 1919. John attended Poltava school west of Wakaw and farmed briefly at Zelma before enlisting at Regina late in 1943.
