| Captain (Fusiliers Mont-Royal) Marcel Jacques Chevalier (b.1915) of St. Brieux was KIA 19440823 during the pursuit to the Seine and is buried at Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian war cemetery, Calvados, France. He was the only son of Jacques and Marie (Legrand) Chevalier who came from Finistere, Brittany, in 1906 and homesteaded SW24-37-1-W3 at St. Denis. Marcel left a wife Alyce Josephine (Samletzki) at St. Brieux where he and his father Jacques were in the implement business 1915-51. Marcel enlisted (L18576) at Regina late in 1941. |
