Narrative history
  L8852 Rifleman (Royal Winnipeg Rifles) Arthur Edward Chalk (b.1916) of Medstead was KIA 19441012 during the assault crossing of the Leopold Canal and is buried at Adegem Canadian war cemetery, Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium. He was the son of Percy George and Ethel May Chalk who homesteaded NW4-50-15-W3 just west of Medstead. Arthur was farming when he enlisted at Saskatoon late in 1941.
