Narrative history
  Lieutenant (Queen's Own Rifles) Donald David Chadbolt (b.1923) of Wilkie was KIA 19450226 in the Hochwald Forest during operations to clear the west bank of the Rhine and is buried at Groesbeek Canadian war cemetery near Nijmegen, Gelderland, Netherlands. He was the son of John Walter and Anna Chadbolt (later Mrs. Dobni of Hardisty, Alberta). Donald was born at Yorkton, and came with his family when the CPR transferred his father to Wilkie in the early 1930s. He was a student when he enlisted as a private (L57848) at Rosetown in 1941.
