Narrative history
  J7686 Flying Officer (No. 272 Squadron RAF pilot) George Gordon Cann (b.1919) of Balcarres was KIA 19421104 and is buried at Hadra War Memorial cemetery, Alexandria, Egypt. Cann's Beaufighter crashed at Edcu. George was the son of Robert George and Edith Emily Cann, was raised at Gull Lake, joined the Royal Bank at Brock in 1937, and served at Balcarres before enlisting in 1941.
