Narrative history
  R147798 Flight Sergeant (RCAF navigator) Robert William (Bill) Calvert (b.1922) of North Battleford was KIA 19430915 and is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial just west of London, England, for airmen who died with no known grave. Calvert's Beaufighter was lost off the Faroe Islands on a flight from No. 54 Operational Training Unit. He was the son of David William and Laura Margaret (Fowlie) Calvert who came from Middlesex Co., Ontario. Bill was working as a parts man in his father's garage when he enlisted at Saskatoon early in 1942.
