Narrative history
  L104415 Private (Infantry) Aubrey Leonard Edward Brettell (b.1912) of Indian Head, where he is buried, died 19431226. He was the son of Edith Brettell. Aubrey was born at Calgary and was farming for his grandparents when he enlisted at Regina early in 1943. He was on Christmas leave at the home of his uncle and aunt when he took his own life with a .22 calibre rifle.
