| J9739 Flying Officer (No. 172 Squadron RAF wireless air gunner) Neville Bernett (b.1916) of Bounty was KIA 19430304 and is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial near London, England, for airmen from the north European theatre who died with no known grave. Bernett's Wellington failed to return from a night mission. He was the son of James and Adelaide Frances (Rogers) Bernett who came from Shropshire to homestead NE10-29-10-W3 south of Bounty, and left a fiancee Molly Olson at Outlook. Neville was farming with his family when he enlisted at Saskatoon early in 1941. |
