Narrative history
  J16782 Flight Lieutenant (No. 434 Bluenose Squadron RCAF navigator bomb aimer) George Theodore Berg (b.1916) of Saskatoon was KIA 19431003 and is buried at Hanover war cemetery, Harrenburg, Germany. Berg was shot down during a raid on Kassel. He was the son of William Halvor and Jalma Theodora (Olson) Berg of Valparaiso. George was born at Weldon, educated there and at City Park collegiate, Saskatoon. He worked at the plant pathology lab at the university and earned a BSA degree, then spent a year working at the Inco refinery at Sudbury before enlisting at Saskatoon early in 1941.
