| R107060 Leading Aircraftman (No. 6414 Echelon RCAF) (Gordon) Ross Bell (b.1921) of Saskatoon was KIA 19450101. A ground crew mechanic, Bell died of multiple gunshot wounds to the chest when enemy aircraft strafed and bombed the aerodrome at Eindhoven and is buried at Groesbeek Canadian war cemetery near Nijmegen, Gelderland, Netherlands. He was the son of Fred James and Vera Irene (Jennison) Bell and married Brenda June Hatcher of Andover, Hampshire, England, after going overseas. After high school Ross completed a mechanics course at Saskatoon Technical school and an aeronautics program at the airport, enlisting at Saskatoon in 1941. |
