| R139887 Flight Sergeant (No. 101 Squadron RAF air gunner) Gerald Alfred Beckett (b.1917) of Regina was KIA 19440103 and is buried at Berlin 1939-45 war cemetery, Charlottenburg, Germany. Beckett was flying in a Lancaster when he was shot down over Berlin. He was the son of Alfred and May Genevieve (Bagot) Beckett who came from Hamilton, Ontario, to homestead NE28-14-8-W2 east of Glenavon and later moved to Toronto. Gerald was working as a mail order clerk for Army & Navy before the war, and spent just over a year in the Army before transferring to the RCAF at Regina late in 1941. |
