| R98593 Flight Sergeant (No. 434 Bluenose Squadron RCAF air gunner) Wallace Bruce Ballantyne (b.1922) of Unity was KIA 19431009 and is buried at Hamburg war cemetery, Ohlsdorf, Germany. Ballantyne's Halifax was shot down during a raid on Hanover. He was the son of William Graham and Ethel Florence (Turner) who came from Smiths Falls, Lanark Co., Ontario. Wallace was farming when he enlisted at Saskatoon early in 1941. |
