| M16680 Private (Loyal Edmonton Regiment) John Holland Allen (b.1918) of Macklin was KIA 19440213 and is buried at Padua war cemetery, Italy. Allen, who had been listed as missing in action at Cortina the previous October, was killed by a bomb fragment. John was the son of Frederick Richard and Belle Vedra Allen of Peterborough, Peterborough Co., Ontario. He was born at Toronto and worked as a driver mechanic at Macklin for three years before enlisting at Edmonton early in 1940. |
