Narrative history
  J18289 Pilot Officer (No. 408 Goose Squadron RCAF air gunner) (George) Nelson Acton (b.1912) of Dorintosh was KIA 19430626 over Gelsenkirchen, Germany, and is buried at Reichswald Forest war cemetery near Kleve. He was the son of George and Mary Mathilda (Pinder) Acton. Nelson was born at Thessalon, Algoma district, Ontario, moved to Unity with his parents in 1917, and took a homestead of his own at SE32-62-18-W3 north of Dorintosh in 1933. He farmed, trapped and freighted until he enlisted in 1942. Nelson's brother Norman served in the Army.
