A118061 Private (Royal Canadian Regiment) Michael Sochowski (b.1915) of Wolseley was KIA 19440530 near Frosinone and is buried at Cassino war cemetery, Frosinone, Italy. He was the son of Dmytro and Katie Tekla Soczowski, both Polish. Michael was born at Wolseley, educated at Qu'Appelle, Wolseley and Balfour Tech and worked as a clerk at McBride's store. He then spent a year as a stock manager for McBride's at Moose Jaw before enlisting in the RCAF (R94685) at Regina early in 1941. For unknown reasons he was discharged in Ontario a few months later and found work as a stock clerk for Ford before re-enlisting in the Army at Windsor, Essex Co., in 1942.
