Narrative history
  R192073 Flight Sergeant (No. 437 Husky Squadron RCAF pilot) Douglas Otto Schneider (b.1921) of Regina was KIA 19441024 and is buried at Calais Canadian war cemetery, Leubringhen, Pas-de-Calais, France. Schneider's Dakota was returning from a freight operation at Antwerp, Belgium, when it crashed at Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise, Pas-de-Calais. He was the son of Michael K. and Andrea (Nimeegers) Schneider who came from Russia and Belgium respectively. Douglas was born at Balgonie, educated at St. Augustine school, Campion college and Balfour Tech and worked for almost two years at Norduyn Aviation at Montréal, Québec, before enlisting at Regina in 1942. His brother Bernard also served in the RCAF.
