Narrative history
  K100074 Private (Westminster Regiment) Peter Gatey (b.1920) of Port Hammond, British Columbia, was KIA 19440902 and is buried at Montecchio was cemetery, Montelabbate, Pesaro, Italy. Gatey was killed near San Giovanni in Marignano during the breakout from the Gothic Line. He was the son of Michael, a CPR section man, and Mary Gatey of Walpole. Peter was born at Cupar and was a sawmill worker when he enlisted at Vancouver early in 1942.
