Narrative history
  J8610 Flying Officer (No. 420 Snowy Owl Squadron RCAF observer) (Gerrard) Roy Bing (b.1917) of Regina was KIA 19421015 and is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial near London, England, for airmen who died with no known grave. Bing's Wellington was shot down near Adegem, Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium. He was the son of Gerrard Andrew, a veteran, and Florence Gladys (Pearce) Bing who moved to Port Hammond, British Columbia, in 1950. Roy was born at Bournemouth, Dorset, England, arriving at Regina as a baby, and attended Lakeview, Davin, Central and Balfour schools. He worked for BC Electric at Vancouver, British Columbia, for three years before returning to Regina to enlist early in 1941. Roy's brother Pat was awarded the DFC while flying out of Malta and served in the RCAF until 1968.

DB Smyth and LE White died on the same flight.

A memorial window has been installed in St Marys Anglican church, Regina, in Roy's honour.
