Narrative history
J23490 Flying Officer (RCAF navigator) Angus Fyfe Bell (b.1915) of Regina died 19431002 on a training flight from No. 23 Operational Training Unit and is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial just west of London for airmen from the north European theatre who died with no known grave. Bell's Wellington was seen to ditch in the Irish Sea but no trace of its crew was ever found. Angus, who attended Happyland school and Balfour tech at Regina, had been with the provincial revenue department from 1938 until he enlisted at Regina in 1942. He was the son of Abram McLure and Catherine (MacLeod) Bell who homesteaded W25-41-22-W3 north of Adanac and retired to Unity. Angus' brother Andrew served with the Army in Italy while brothers Archie and Charlie were with the RCAF.
