Narrative history
  Captain (Canadian Engineers Training Depot quartermaster) Alfred John Manville (b.1873) of Prince Albert died 19190711 and is buried at Mount Royal cemetery, Montréal, Québec. Manville was invalided home from England late in 1917 with endocarditis and nephritis. He was the son of Adeline Manville of Coventry, West Midlands, England. Alfred was born at London and was a farmer when he enlisted in the 53rd Battalion as a private (441448) at Camp Sewell, Manitoba, in 1915. He was commissioned at North Battleford early the next year.
