Narrative history
  439667 Private (52nd Battalion, Manitoba Regiment) Henry Edward Hannon (b.1892) of Kenora, Kenora district, Ontario, was KIA 19160609 at Sanctuary Wood and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial at Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, which bears the names of 55,000 men who were lost without trace during the defence of the Ypres Salient in the First World War. He was the son of H.P. and Kathleen Hannon of Athy, Kildare, Ireland. Henry was a bank teller when he enlisted at Kenora in 1915. He had previously worked at Avonlea.
