Narrative history
  925113 Private (5th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment) John Cawley (b.1882) of Ceylon was KIA 19170409 at Vimy Ridge and is buried at Nine Elms military cemetery, Thelus north of Arras, Pas-de-Calais, France. John came from Sligo, Sligo, Ireland, to homestead SE28-4-21-W2 south of Hardy and was farming when he enlisted at Weyburn at the end of 1915. His brother Joseph took over the homestead after the war.
