  2379688 Private (27th Battalion, Manitoba Regiment) William James Beetham (b.1883) of Paddockwood was KIA 19181010 at Thun-Saint-Martin and is buried at Niagara cemetery, Iwuy northeast of Cambrai, Nord, France. He was the son of John Abraham and Julia Beetham of Northallerton, North Yorkshire, England. William homesteaded SW20-52-24-W2 east of Paddockwood but was working at Winnipeg, Manitoba, when he was drafted there early in 1918.
