Narrative history
  Lieutenant (54th Battalion, British Columbia Regiment) Dudley Alan Herbert Acheson (b.1888) of Saskatoon was KIA 19161105 at Regina Trench and is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial north of Arras, Pas-de-Calais, for the 11,000+ Canadian soldiers who died in northern France with no known grave. Acheson, who was originally with the 65th Battalion, was killed by a sniper while inspecting some trenchwork. He was the son of Colonel Herbert Acheson of the Saskatchewan Light Horse. Dudley, a barrister, had been active with the Saskatoon Fusiliers before the war.
